Ozon Global to Launch Six New Warehouses in China
Ozon Global, the Russian cross-border e-commerce platform, will open six new partner warehouses in eastern and southern China. By 2025, additional distribution centers will be set up in Dongning, Alashankou, Hangzhou, Dongguan, Yiwu, and Shanghai. The company also announced a nearly 50% reduction in commissions for goods priced below 1,500 rubles ($14.33), bringing the maximum sales commission down to 12%. Since 2024, Ozon Global has also slashed logistics costs for low-priced goods by over 70%.
In addition, Ozon Global will enable Chinese sellers to deliver to not only Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan, but also to five other CIS countries by the end of 2025: Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and Georgia. This will provide Chinese sellers access to a potential customer base of over 200 million people.
JD Logistics Targets 2-3 Day Delivery Across 19 Countries by 2025
On December 18, JD Logistics unveiled its 2025 strategy at a conference in Shenzhen. The company plans to expand its global presence, aiming for "2-3 day delivery" in 19 countries by 2025, supported by over 50 self-run warehouses. JD Logistics will double its warehouse space overseas, enabling faster logistics for customers. The company has already achieved "2-3 day delivery" in key markets such as the U.S., U.K., France, Germany, Poland, the UAE, Japan, South Korea, and Australia, with some areas even offering "next-day delivery."
Keeta Drone Becomes First Chinese Operator with Overseas License in Dubai
Keeta Drone, a subsidiary of Meituan, has received the UAE's first commercial license for Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) drone deliveries from the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority. This milestone makes Keeta Drone the first Chinese drone logistics operator to secure an overseas license, following the launch of its food and medical delivery services in Dubai.
The company has introduced four operational drone delivery routes in Dubai Silicon Oasis, covering key locations like the Rochester Institute of Technology and Dubai Digital Park. This marks Keeta Drone's first international expansion, building on its success in China, where it operates 53 routes and has completed over 400,000 deliveries.
Geekplus Files for Hong Kong IPO
Geekplus has filed for a listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. As of 2023, the company is the world's largest provider of AMR warehouse solutions, maintaining its leadership for five consecutive years. With extensive reach across e-commerce, FMCG, and third-party logistics, Geekplus reported revenues of USD 293.60 million in 2023, up from USD 198.93 million in 2022. For the first half of 2024, it saw order volume growth to USD 185.37 million, reflecting strong demand for its mobile robotics solutions.
Founded in 2015, Geekplus has expanded globally with over 770 industry leaders as using its systems, including UPS, Adidas, and Walmart. Its systems enhance productivity while reducing costs, with a strong ROI. The company partners with giants like Microsoft and Intel to drive innovation in supply chain logistics.
JD Logistics Sees 100% Surge in Orders During Double 12 Sales in Southeast Asia
As the Double 12 sales event launched in Southeast Asia, JD Logistics reported an over 100% YoY increase in order volume from its regional warehouses on December 12. Following the opening of its Malaysia Warehouse No. 2 in September, the company saw a surge in demand from local and cross-border sellers. To meet this, JD Logistics has expanded the warehouse with doubled capacity, boosting daily order handling by over 300% compared to last year. By 2025, the company plans to open three additional self-owned warehouses in Malaysia.

Asia Pacific continues to drive global air cargo growth, accounting for 56% of the 12% year-on-year increase in tonnage through October 2024, according to WorldACD Market Data. Within this, general cargo contributed 64%, fueled by e-commerce shipments, while special cargo, dominated by high-tech goods, made up 36%. As a result, Asia Pacific's share of global outbound tonnage rose to 41%, up from 39% last year, far outpacing Europe (24%), Central & South America (14%), MESA (9%), and North America (8%).
Cainiao Launches Premium Service to Speed Up Overseas Deliveries
Cainiao International has launched a premium service to streamline overseas delivery for standard products, cutting delivery times by up to a full day. By optimizing pickup, sorting, and transit, the service reduces overseas delivery times by at least 12 hours. Currently available in the US, France, and Spain, it offers a delivery time of about 10 days from China to the consumer. The service will soon expand to the UK and Germany, with additional markets to follow.
Shandong Port Launches Direct Weekly Service to Southeast Africa
On December 16, the "GREEN NAGOYA" set sail from Qingdao Port, carrying over 20,000 cubic meters of goods to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, in just 20 days. This marks the launch of Shandong Port's first direct, fast weekly service to Southeast Africa. The new route reduces sailing time from China to Southeast African ports by 10 days, cutting delivery times to around 30 days and boosting efficiency by over 30%. Qingdao Port is now the exclusive hub for COSCO Shipping's special cargo services in Northern China.
JD Express Reaches Nearly 80 Countries with New European Expansion
JD Express has expanded its international delivery service to nine additional European countries, including Ireland, Estonia, the Czech Republic, Latvia, Luxembourg, Slovenia, Greece, Hungary, and Lithuania. Consumers in these countries can now receive JD Express shipments directly from China. This expansion brings JD Logistics closer to its goal of covering nearly 80 countries with international express services, positioning it among the industry's top players.
